We recently got a new puppy from Patty at So Cute Havanese. At four weeks we were
able to select the boy we wanted and at 8 weeks he would be ready to join our home.
During the first eight weeks Patty spent many hours with our puppy and his litter mates
getting them acclimated to their crates, the pen, the pee pad, the doggy door, the lawn
area and all the other basic things our puppy needed to learn to get a good start on
being a well adjusted pet. But even with all that, there were still many more things he
would need to learn as he grew. Eight weeks was a good start but what if we could have
Patty keep him a little bit longer? An extra week or even two in the life of an eight week
old puppy is a lot of extra training time without the distraction of a new place.
That is where the Enhanced Training option Patty offers came into play. We have never
had this valuable program available from any breeder in the past and it just made so
much sense. Our pup would spend additional time with Patty at a very formidable time
in his life so he could become even better at his housebreaking, crate training, and diet.
He would also get early exposure to more things like car rides, leash training, grooming,
new people, new places, new noises and surroundings. So many things he could learn
and become conditioned to before we brought him home.
It was the best decision we ever made. Our pup was so ahead of schedule with
housebreaking and he was perfect in the crate anytime we put him in it. He was great at
riding in the car in his crate. He knew what the leash was for and was really good on it.
He was used to the grooming bath and comb and noise of the clippers, too. So many of
the things we would have maybe struggled with at 8 weeks he already had pretty well
been normalized for him because he had the enhanced training time with Patty. He has
been so much easier to housebreak than any of our previous dogs. He doesn’t mind the
rain or thunder or loud noises and is very outgoing with strangers. He has very little fear
of anything and we truly believe this is due to that extra time he got at So Cute
Havanese! We can’t recommend this enough for anybody that is getting their puppy
from Patty. We have always put so much love and resources into our dogs and this was
a rare opportunity to be able to add this for our puppy’s success.
